Refractometer for Measuring Alcohol Content by Volume AT 80 SIXTOL
An optical refractometer designed for
measuring alcohol by volume, commonly used for fruit brandies like plum, apricot, and similar distillates such as whisky, bourbon, vodka, and gin. This device measures the
refractive index of light to determine the composition and purity of liquids. It is not suitable for measuring alcohol in liqueurs, wine, or beer. It's ideal for use in distilling fruit spirits or mead, where you can calculate the volume of pure alcohol by multiplying the measured alcohol content by volume and dividing the result by 100.
Main Advantages:- Compact size
- No batteries or assembly required
- High precision and low margin of error
- Durable and lightweight aluminum alloy body
- Soft rubber cover for comfortable handling
- Virtually maintenance-free
How to Use:- Place a drop of liquid on the prism, close the cover, and after a few seconds (allowing for temperature adjustment), look through the eyepiece at the light source and read the alcohol percentage on the scale. Ensure to clean the prism thoroughly after use.
