Refractometer for Measuring Water Content in Honey ATC 25 SIXTOL
This high-quality optical refractometer with
automatic temperature compensation is designed for quick, easy, and precise measurement of water content in honey, ranging from 13% to 25%, with a resolution of 0.1%. The refractometer measures the
refractive index of light to determine the composition of liquid mixtures and the purity of substances. It is used to determine
honey quality and water content, e.g., as per Council Directive 2001/110/EC and other standards for obtaining the
CZECH HONEY mark. The reference temperature is 20°C, and for accurate measurements, both the refractometer and honey should be around this temperature. ATC ensures no calibration is needed between 0°C and 30°C.
Main Advantages:- Compact design
- No batteries or assembly required
- Durable, lightweight aluminum alloy body
- Soft rubber cover for comfortable handling
- Virtually maintenance-free
- High reliability and long lifespan
- Large, easy-to-read scale
- High precision and low margin of error
How to Use:- Simply place a drop of honey on the slanted optical prism, close the cover (the honey will spread), and look through the eyepiece. Adjust focus if necessary, and immediately read the water content from the scale based on the boundary between light and dark fields.
Calibration:- To calibrate, clean the blue surface of the prism with distilled water and an optical cloth, open the refractometer's lid, and place a drop of calibration solution on the blue surface. After 30 seconds, check if the boundary line matches the reference point on the calibration solution, and adjust if needed using the calibration screw.
